This gunpowder green tea is made from Cameilla sinensis leaves and buds that have not undergone the same withering and oxidation process which is used to make oolong and black teas. To ensure consistent and same quality, this is a blend from different tea estates from the same harvest.

Only McCabes green tea for me.

I have tried other brands and there's no comparison. Such a pity its so hard to get in shops and restaurants in Galway.

I love this loose green tea and it is top quality with huge leaves. I was becoming bored with shop green teabags which seemed over-processed. I found McCabes in a coffee shop in Straffan Village near the K Club and bought a bag as an experiment. Wow!
Prepare to be pleasantly surprised.
On pouring piping hot water into your cup the leaves expand and release a beautiful flavor. A teaspoon of the tea is enough and, so strong is the blend, I can usually refill my cup with hot water a two or three times. This is ‘proper’ green tea of the highest quality and I will be buying it for life.
